			<description><![CDATA[ We bought 2 female gerbils from the petshop about 6 months or more ago. We put one of the male gerbils in with them accidentally, and one of them gave birth to 2 female babies. We removed the male right away. About 4 months after the births, the 2 adult females started fighting and there's been some blood shed, one has a gash across the eye and the other has some wound below. Nothing terribly bad but I've never seen any of them fight before. We've separated them and cleaned out the cage and... ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ This is something I've wondered for a while. Someone told me that they can indeed catch your cold. However, before hearing this, I had played with them while having a cold, and none of my gerbils caught it. What I really want to know is if they can catch Strep. So far I have given them flavoured wood chews which were arranged as part of the bedding and not touched since, and mouse/rat fruit sticks. The type i'm particularly interested in is the sun dried corn on the cob made by Vitakraft.
